Bargain at the Grand Rex in Paris: legendary theater seats starting at 30 euros

As part of the complete renovation of its Theater 7, the legendary Parisian movie theater Le Grand Rex, located in the 2nd arrondissement, has decided to part with its old seats.

This Thursday, July 9, movie enthusiasts and collectors will have the chance to try their luck and walk away with a piece of the venue’s history. To participate in this exclusive sale, interested parties must go to the venue, at the Rue Poissonnière entrance, starting at 10 a.m.

The famous venue is operating on a “first come, first served” basis, and the sale will continue until supplies run out. Prices range from 30 to 60 euros, depending on the size and finish of the models. For the classic “solid blue” armchair, the price is set at 30 euros. It will cost an additional 10 euros—for a total of 40 euros—to purchase the premium model featuring the word “Rex” embroidered on it. The two-seater “duo” seats, also embroidered, will be available for 60 euros.

This initiative marks the kickoff of a major modernization plan for Le Grand Rex. In fact, this renovation of Theater 7 will be followed, during the summer of 2026, by the complete renovation of four other screening theaters as well as the restrooms.
