Goodbye to foreign beverages: Air France’s new strategy highlights French-style luxury

Planning a flight with Air France? If you’re traveling in Business or First Class, you might notice a small change. The French airline has decided to remove foreign beverages from its menu, thereby highlighting French products.

Goodbye Fuze Tea, Sprite, and Schweppes—Coca-Cola is the only exception on the list of foreign beverages removed by Air France. This new in-flight offering aims to “showcase the best of France,” the airline told Air Journal. “...The updated selection features exclusively French brands, with the exception of Coca-Cola. Now available on all Air France flights departing from Paris, this new selection replaces several existing beverages.”

What are the French alternatives?

Air France is now prioritizing premium and local options:

  • organic fruit juices (Maison Patrick Font)
  • lemonades from French producers (Vitamont)
  • iced teas
  • French tonics and the highly popular ginger soda.

This summer, you can also sample signature cocktails created by renowned mixologist Matthias Giroud. And in keeping with its tradition, Air France will continue to offer champagne to all passengers during meals, across all classes.
